The Indian Government sponsored the NSS Programme under the Department of Youth affairs and Sports. It was started to train the students in serving to the Nation and the People.

The Motto of NSS is "not me, but you". This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholding the need for selfless services and appreciation of another man's point of view and also showing humanitarian consideration for fellow beings. It insists that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole.

  • To inculcate the Social welfare the rights among the Students.
  • To Serve the Society without any hesitation and prejudice.
  • To develop the inner spirit of the students for social work and thereby develop the personality of the Students.
  • In Our College there are 3 Units of N.S.S with 150 Volunteers of which one unit is for the Women. Three N.S.S Programme Officers Plan and conduct social programmes in and around the rural places and villages of the College.

  • The NSS Aims to develop in its volunteers:
    1. To provide quality sustained essential higher education at all time adapting to changing environment for a meaningful and self-supporting life to the economically poor and socially under privileged sections of the society.
    2. To provide value based education to inculcate a sense of responsibility, patriotism, social awareness and to become a good citizen of the country.
    3. To provide technical skills and knowledge and to meet the challenges and competencies among students.
    4. To identify the potentialities and encourage active and quality research useful for the development of the society and the nation.
    5. To understand the community in which they work.
    6. To understand themselves in relation to their community
    7. To identity the needs and problems of the community and invoine in problems solving process.
    8. Develop among themselves a sense of social responsibility
    9. Develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities.
    10. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
    11. Acquire leadership qualities
    12. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
    13. Practice National integration and harmony
    14. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems

    students selected on the basis of a high sense of duty and discipline and smart turn-out are permitted to participate in the following activities among others.
